Chasing Stars

Chasing Stars

It was the summer solstice, the shortest night of the year, and suprisingly it was the darkest/clearest nighttime sky I’ve seen from our home since I started my astronomical observations with a telescope. The milky way was fairly visible, I first thought that it was some cloud but then realized it didn’t change shape/position after about an hour. I had a good time practicing some astrophotography skills, but a hard time taking shots of Jupiter as it required me to ensure alignment of the optics (both camera and telescope). So here are the resulting photos after a grueling post-processing session.

Jupiter.... optics out of focus (it was hard to focus the telescope, harder to focus together with the camera lens)

Jupiter... still out of focus but with cloud bands much more visible

Amazing!!! I’m dreaming to see Jupiter with my own eyes (plus the telescope, hehe)
